Imphal, August 04: The identities of the two suspected UG cadres killed in a reported encounter with troops of 7 AR at Ithai Wapokpi under Bishnupur district yesterday have been established.

They have been identified as Chingakham Herojit alias Johny (15) s/o Rajen of Tera Khongsangbi and Takhellambam Hemanta (24) s/o Achou of Salan Konjil Part II.

On completion of post mortem at RIMS, both the corpses have been handed over to the respective families.

Meanwhile, two other individuals slain by commandos during a reported shoot-out near Naral Konjil Pukhri Achouba Mapal on August 2 have been identified.

But there has been no official claims till date.

They have been identified as Md Nazir (18) s/o Bahar of Lilong Ushoipokpi Tharoilou and Md Salibur (22) s/o Hesam of the same locality.

Contending that the duo were civilians, a large number came out and blocked NH 39 in protest at Ushoipokpi at around 2 pm today.
