Imphal, May 03 2010: Taking strong exception to the State Government's decision to prevent entry of NSCN (IM) General Secretary Thuingaleng Muivah into Manipur, the Naga Hoho, the Naga Mothers' Association, the Naga Students' Federation and the Naga People's Movement for Human Rights have jointly served an ultimatum to Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh to prevail over the State Government so that the ban on Muivah's entry into Manipur is lifted within 24 hours.

The four organisations also categorically stated "we will have no option but take any action that we will consider appropriate and edifying in our quest for our rightful place".

They maintained that the proposed visit of Muivah to his native village is for spreading the message of peace, not for waging war against any community or State.

"It is the birthright of every person to visit the place of his birth", they asserted.

If the visit of Muivah is not allowed by the Manipur Government, it will be solely responsible for any consequences arising out of the situation. Noting that it was with the knowledge and consent of the Government of India that the proposed visit of Muivah was planned, the four Naga civil organisations observed that upholding the State Govt's ban speaks volumes about the double standard nature and insincerity on the part of the Government of India.

Meanwhile, the Naga Hoho, NMA, NSF and NPMHR, held a joint meeting at Kohima today and unanimously resolved to ensure safe transit of Th Muivah to his native village in Ukhrul.

To this end, a committee has been constituted with all officials of the four organisations as members.

The committee will take charge of escorting Ato Kilonser Muivah and take befitting action in case the Govt of India or Govt of Manipur attempt to obstruct his visit to his native village.

The committee has also appealed for cooperation and support from all sections of Naga people as well as the Nagaland State Government and also all the peace loving citizen of the country towards bringing in the region.
