Imphal, May 29 2010: The Naga People's Organization (NPO) has taken serious note of the re-deployment and reinforcement of IRBs and other State Forces in Senapati District.

Strongly condemning alleged insincerity of the State Government to partially withdraw Manipur Commandos/IRBs from the District today, an NPO release issued by its president M Dili said presence and movement of more Manipur IRBs in the District has increased tensions and apprehensions in the mind of the people.

For which, the NPO in the interest of the general public of the District demand that the State Government immediately withdraw all State forces present in the District.

Their presence and records of terrorizing the innocent citizens at Mao-gate has created insecurity and fear among the people that, even the displaced people in the aftermath of May 6, 2010 incident at Mao-gate are still yet to return to their respective homes till today.

NPO also condemned the act of indiscriminate firing at Noney by the State Forces yesterday in which three innocent women were seriously injured.

Such irresponsible and unprovoked firing by the infamous forces will only maximize more public resentment and social unrest.

The NPO also shares its solidarity to the injured persons and family who were targeted in yesterday's incident, Dili added.
