Whip cracked for oil tankers to report

Imphal, June 23 2010: Cracking the whip against all oil tankers under contract with the Indian Oil Corporation, Imphal Depot, the Deputy Manager (Ops) on behalf of the Senior Depot Manager, Imphal Depot has issued an instruction to all the transporters to report to the IOC Depot, Chingmeirong latest by 2 pm of June 25 today.

The instructions followed a meeting held between the officials of the IOC, represented by the Deputy Manager and the DGP at the latter's office today at 3.30 pm.

Making it clear that the State Police Department is planning to escort around 200 oil tankers to lift fuel from outside the State on June 26, all transporters have been asked to report to the Chingmeirong Oil Depot latest by 2 pm of June 25 .

Failure to report or non-availability of list or non-availability of details will be taken seriously, warned IOC.

Such an instruction and warning has been necessitated due to the acute shortage of fuel in the State and non-compliance with the instruction will be taken as compounding the problem.

Action will be taken as per the terms and conditions of the Transporters Agreement Contract in the event of failure to comply with the instructions, cautioned IOC.
