Imphal, January 20: One of the three persons shot dead by unidentified persons at Meitram Awang Leikai under Nambol police station in the night of January 16 has been identified as one Elangbam Romio (18) s/o Kunjo of Chairen.

However, it is reported that post mortem examination of the corpse would be conducted tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the corpse of Wahengbam Romesh (23) of Wabagai Tera Pishak found shot dead at Phougakchao on January 18 has been handed over to family members after post mortem at RIMS today.

On the other hand, even as the deceased shot dead by Imphal West commandos on January 18 at Khuman Lampak has been identified as Henkholun (24) s/o S Mongjang village chief Khupthang Haokip, the family members are declining to claim the body contending that Henkholun was an innocent civilian.

The corpse is lying at RIMS morgue.
