Ukhrul, May 17 2010: Under the aegis of Tangkhul Action Committee(TAC), a torch rally is being organized tomorrow at 6 pm to protest the decision of the State Government to bar the visit of Th Muivah to his birth place.

The proposed rally will converge at TNL ground after starting from two junctions, Dungrie and Kharasom.

According to a statement issued by the media-in-charge of the TAC, the preparation to roll-out the red carpet for Th Muivah is on in full swing.

Enthusiastic Tangkhul people, both young and old alike, are eagerly awaiting his visit with traditional gates put up at various points and intersection numbering more than 20 .

Thousands of white flags at all the roof tops and posters await his home coming after nearly 40 years.

The TAC has also strongly alleged that any news or information or articles written by the hill people in connection with the stand off over the proposed visit of the NSCN (IM) leader have not been entertained by the Manipur valley based newspapers.

TAC further alleged that taking due cognizance of the biased attitude of the valley based newspapers, the TAC is compelled to serve a warning notice to all newspaper firms in Manipur on May 17, and if any news paper continue with its biased stand, the committee will have no other option than to ban all English dailies published from Imphal at Ukhrul district, it warned.

The decision was taken during an emergency meeting held at the office of the Tangkhul Naga Long and passed as a resolution.
