Imphal, June 15 2010: The Manipur Christian Organisation (AMCO) Tuesday asked all churches irrespective of denominations/churches to intensify prayers to the Almighty God for a lasting peace and harmony in the state of Manipur.

The AMCO, in a statement dispatched to the media houses also appealed to all heads of the denominations, conventions, associations, presbytery, diocese, parish, churches to ensure that the churches under their banner take up the prayer session in their respective churches at their convenience.

The organisation also laid down some points which would be followed while conducting the prayers.

Every church should conduct a special session of prayer at the earliest convenience in which every member reflects one's own sinfulness especially sins of selfishness, greed, hypocrisy, revengeful spirit, communalism, unforgiveness, etc.

Government may bring forth peace, unity and integrity through peaceful talks and not through force or violence interceding for the people of Manipur, the statement suggested and everyone may look out for the interest of the other and not one's own interest which is the key to solution of any conflict, the AMCO suggested.
