Imphal, May 11 2010: In view of the severe hardships being faced by the people due to unavailability of petrol and diesel, the State Cabinet has decided to issue petrol and diesel in phases after considering the stock available at IOC Limited, Imphal.

As per an order issued by the Commissioner CAF and PD, petrol and diesel will be allotted to four oil pumps in Imphal West district.

The selected oil pumps are M/s BB & Co, Sangaiprou (diesel), M/s PCTC Khuyathong (petrol), M/s Jas Gas Service Station (petrol), Uripok and M/s KPO City Moirangkhong (diesel).

In Imphal East district, petrol and diesel will be distributed at M/s Imphal Oil Agency, Chingmeirong (diesel), M/s Singh & Co, Mantripukhri (petrol), M/s BE North AOC (diesel) and M/s Porompat Service, Porompat (petrol).

For Thoubal district, fuel oils will be distributed at M/s Kanhai & Sons (petrol), Thoubal and M/s Indo-myanmar Service station (diesel) and for Bishnupur district at M/s Bitej Gasolene (petrol) and M/s Motor Service Station, Moirang (diesel).

M/s S Paite & Sons Churachandpur (petrol) and M/s Tuibong Service Station, CCpur (diesel) will distribute petrol and diesel in Churachandpur.

Each of these oil pumps have been allotted 12 Kilolitres of petrol and diesel and the same would be distributed to consumers tomorrow.

These oil pumps have also been instructed to record registration numbers of vehicles to which petrol or diesel is filled.

Issue of petrol/diesel should be limited to 10 litres per vehicle for four wheelers and five litres for two wheelers.

For commercial vehicles like buses and trucks which are plying inter-district or inter-State, issue of diesel should be limited to 40 litres per vehicle.

For smaller commercial vehicles like Tata Magic/light vehicles and agricultural motors like tractors, Kubota etc, issue of diesel should be limited to 20 litres on production of registration card/licence.

The Commission CAF and PD has also instructed the Deputy Commissioners concerned to depute one staff each to these oil pumps to record opening stock, closing stock, sale data indicating date, vehicle registration number and quantity filled in vehicles.

For the remaining districts, fuel oils will be issued after the DCs concerned furnish reports about clearance of routes to the respective district Hqs for transportation of fuel oils by tankers in view of the road blocks reported at various places.

The DCs have been asked to liaise with the SPs and confirm whether they can provide security escorts for tankers to deliver petrol and diesel to their respective districts.

A separate for issue of petroleum products for the remaining four districts will be issued accordingly, it mentioned.

For VIPs, Govt Departments/institutions, hospitals, press and other essential services, petrol and diesel will be issued at 1st MR oil pump tomorrow.

It has been arranged that 5 Kilolitres each of petrol and diesel would reserved to cater to the requirements of VIPs/Govt departments/Govt institutions/hospitals/press and other essential services etc.
