Imphal, June 05: An unknown person was shot dead by some unidentified gunmen near Kongba Nongthonbam Leikai PHSC under Porompat police station at around 7 tonight.

A slip of paper recovered from the wallet of the deceased was found written with the words, "Santosh was given capital punishment for being an informer.

Others associating with Santosh should also stop being informers".

The deceased was found wearing a red T-shirt and striped shorts.

He was found hit by at least four bullets.

He was found blindfolded with hands tight behind.

A bullet which hit him in the left temple exited through the head.

Bullet marks were also observed on the right side of abdomen, left side of chest and also on the private part.

Police have picked up the corpse and deposited it at RIMS mortuary.
