Students staged sit-in-protest for 3rd consecutive day

Imphal, August 03: Even as a representative of the Government has started the preliminary talks with the agitating ANSAM, many students of schools and colleges located different parts of the State, specially the valley area continued to staged sit in protest demonstration for the third consecutive day today exerting on both the parties to arrive at an amicable solution to end present deadlock over imposition of indefinite economic blockade along the NHs.

The students demonstrated in front of their respective schools and colleges urging for restoring normalcy and creating a condusive academic atmosphere with peace and harmony around for them to concentrate in their studies.

The students of Catholic School, Canchipur held the demonstration from 9 am to 3 pm expressing solidarity to the cause of the common people and students in particular who have been subjected to untold hardships because of the present deadlock.

Students and staff of Maria Montesorri School, Koirengei also staged a similar protest demonstration to express their disapproval of the confrontationist attitude of the State Government and the agitating ANSAM from resolving the present deadlock in view of the problems being faced by the people, especially the student community.

Some of the other schools which have joined in the demonstration today are Manipur Institute of Technology, Takyelpat; Thambaljao High School, Lamphelpat; Langthabal Nambul Mapal High School and Junior High School; the Dawn English School, New Checkon, Eastern Ideal Girls� High School, Imphal; Khurai Sajor Leikai High School; Government Polytecnic, Imphal; Chandreshwor Memorial Scientific English High School and Trinity Teacher Training College, Koirengei.
