Imphal, June 01 2010: An all community meeting held at Sekmai today has resolved to thwart any attempt to disintegrate Manipur and take up necessary measures against the 'hidden agenda' of the Government of India and NSCN (IM).

Organised by All Sekmai Meira Paibi Lups and Clubs, the all community meeting held under the theme of 'Peace and harmony' in the community hall of Sekmai Koujengleima Leikai was fully participated by representatives of various communities.

The meeting resolved that the territorial integrity of Manipur should not be compromised under any circumstances by the Government of India in its peace talks with the Naga rebel group NSCN (IM) and the State Government should employ every possible means to ensure lifting of the ongoing economic blockade along the National Highways.

Further, it was resolved that unconditional support would be extended to United Committee Manipur (UCM) in protecting the territorial integrity of Manipur and peace and mutual harmony among the different groups of people in Manipur would be strengthened.

The meeting was attended by president of United Committee Manipur (UCM) Yumnamcha Dilipkumar as chief guest and advisor of International Peace and Social Advancement (IPSA) H Ibotombi Khuman and president of Kanglamei Y Leirik Leima as guests of honour.

Community leaders who spoke during the meeting observed that everyone should understand the real enemy who are trying to drive wedge among the different communities in Manipur that have been co-existing in mutual harmony for the last 2000 years.

The sinister designs of such divisive forces should be defeated with the collective effort of the people.

Stating that NSCN (IM) general secretary Th Muivah should not even dream of disintegrating Manipur, the community leaders exhorted the public to face up to such challenge.

If the Govt of India is acting against the wishes of the people, then the leaders of the various political parties in the State should also take a collective stand for separating Manipur from India, the community leaders said.

In his observation, UCM president Yumamcha Dilipkumar, who conducted the meeting, categorically stated that the dream of the NSCN (IM) and the Government of India to disintegrate Manipur should be thwarted from realisation by the collective strength of the people.

It is also high time to teach a lesson to all those who are trying to inflame communal hatred among the people.

After the meeting, a protest march participated by the community leaders was also taken out in and around Sekmai area.

During the march, the protestors shouted slogans against the proposed visit of Muivah to Manipur and reaffirming the territorial integrity of Manipur.
