Imphal, July 19: The JAC formed in protest against the killing of Th Rameshwar Singh (24) of Moirang Khunou today submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister.

While coming to submit the memorandum, the JAC members were at first stopped by the police in front of Imphal College gate here.

Afterward, the police allowed some selected JAC members to go and submit the memorandum.

The points highlighted in the memorandum include payment of Rs 5 lakhs as compensation to the bereaved family, not to take back the body until the compensation amount is paid, arrest of the accused Khangembam Amitra and handing him over to the JAC.

It is said that the body of Rameshwar was recovered at Uchiwa on July 18 after he had gone out along with Amitra Singh on July 16.The house of the accused had been burnt down by an engaged mob yesterday.
