Ukhrul, October 16 2009: The Raphei Katamnao Long (RKL) has rejected the allegation of turning down and defying deployment of IRB personnel of Manipur at Jessami by their Nagaland counterparts who are occupying a BSF barrack within the territory of Manipur there.

Talking to The Sangai Express, RKL president Tennoson Pheirei, apparently referring to reports published in some local newspapers, said that such allegations should not be made public without authenticating the matter as the issue can flare up any time considering the seriousness and intensity of the situation.

He said that the Government of Manipur has already deployed IRB personnel at Jessami and they are currently attached at Jessami police station as their Nagaland counterparts have not yet vacated the BSF barrack.

The IRB personnel stationed at the BSF barrack by Nagaland Government were awaiting instructions from their Government.

However, Nagaland IRB challenging Manipur IRB did not arise as both the parties have an understanding of the ground reality.

The matter would be settled soon at the level of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the RKL president added.
