Imphal, September 16, 2009: Accusing the Government of harassing the public under the pretext that they connections with militants, the Working Committee of the Apunba Lup today said that this would back fire in the long run.

In a statement, Apunba Lup said that the Government should immediately stop dubbing arrested people as having nexus with non State forces.

It would be in the fitness of things for the Government to retract from such a policy, said Apunba Lup and added that all those dubbed as having nexus with non-State forces are those who have been fighting for safeguarding the territory of Manipur, human rights activists etc.
