Imphal, July 11 2010: Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh has reportedly urged MPP legislator wing leader O Joy Singh to continue attending the ongoing Monsoon session of the Manipur Legislative Assembly.

An informed source said, the MPP MLA was invited by the CM to iron out differences on the issue of the Speaker's indecision with regard to resignations of seven Naga Independent MLAs.

While conveying that O Joy persisted with his demand for a definite decision of the Speaker on the status of the Naga MLAs, the source also informed that Congress Ministers were in attendance during the meeting held at the CM's office chamber this afternoon.

After the session with the veteran MPP politician, another meeting involving the CM and Congress Ministers was held with the Speaker.

It is also said that a meeting between the Speaker, CM and Congress Ministers was also held last evening.

It is pertinent to add that O Joy staged a walkout from the Assembly session on July 8 in protest against the Speaker's indecision on the resignations of the seven MLAs.

While demanding that the Speaker spell out his decision whether the resignation letters of the MLAs have been accepted or rejected, Joy staged a walk out contending that he could not share the same roof with the legislators, whom he accused were part of the NSCN (IM)'s agenda to disintegrate Manipur.

Joy stated that even if he shows up at the Assembly he would not take further part in the debates until status of the Naga MLAs are explained.

Out of the seven MLAs, Phungyar AC representative Wungnaoshang Keishing had attended the opening session.
