Imphal, June 07 2010: Re-poll was held on Monday at the polling station 23/8 K.Leihaoram under Kasom Khullen sub-division for the Ukhrul Autonomous District Council (ADC) with no voters turning out to cast their votes.

The re-poll was slated for today as the June 2 polling ballot papers were burnt by some miscreants.

Amidst total bandh protest in three Autonomous District Councils of Tamenglong, Ukhrul and Senapati, polling was carried out on June 2 as a second phase elections.

In the meant time, the state Election Commission has postponed indefinitely the counting date in view of the incomplete conduct of polls in some polling stations of Churchanpur, Tamenglong and Ukhrul districts.

At least 36 ADC candidates were declared elected unopposed by the state Election commission.
