Lamka, June 04: The proscribed Kuki National Organisation today has claimed the responsibility for the killing of Yumnam Roshan Meitei yesterday at Variety Market.

A statement issued by T Stephen Kuki, alleged that Yumnam Roshan 'was given capital punishment not because of disrespect to his community or his organization, but because of his personal activities which on thorough investigation was found to be creating barriers and misunderstanding among the different communities in Moreh'.

He was not a civilian but a member of a particular insurgent group' it said and further alleged and appealed to the general public not to take this incident on community ground.
