Ukhrul, May 04 2010: Another huge public meeting held here today has reaffirmed the earlier determination and commitment of according a grand welcome to Ato Kilonser of GPRN NSCN-IM Th Muivah when he visits Ukhrul district.

The public meeting held at the TNL ground and attended by many people once again unequivocally re-affirmed that any hindrance posed to the scheduled arrival of NSCNIM leader at his native village and home town Ukhrul on May 8 should be strongly opposed.

At the end of the meeting, a memorandum addressed to the Prime Minister of India and which was submitted through the Deputy Commissioner of Ukhrul, was also read out to the gathering.

The memorandum has been signed jointly by Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL), Tangkhul Katamnao Shaklong (TKS), Tangkhul Shanao Long (TSL) and Tangkhul Naga Wungnao Long (TNWL /Chief Association).

The memorandum, while requesting the Prime Minister for early interference toward the present confrontationist attitude and policy of the State Government, decried it as an infringement on the rights and aspirations of the peace loving people.

On the other hand, CrPc 144 clamped in Ukhrul town since 7am yesterday was lifted at 9 am today following improvement of the law and order situation in the district headquarters.

However, heavy security deployment is still seen at various strategic points as well as in all Government offices.

Meanwhile, the Organizing Tangkhul Reception Committee has announced that it has made all the necessary preparations to give a befitting welcome to Ato Kilonser of NSCN-IM Th Muivah.

The Committee has also appealed to all the people to come and attend the grand reception in their respective traditional attires.
