Protests against Muivah's visit continue

Imphal, May 09 2010: Staging of sit-in protest against Muivah's proposed but deferred for the time being visit in the state was staged at various places across the state today also.

A protest rally was also marched on the streets at Nambol by the womenfolk of Nambol and its surrounding areas tonight.

The rally started from Nambol Kha Jiri and covered the entire locality of the area.

They shouted various slogans decrying any move to disintegrate Manipur.

Sit protests were staged at Wangkhei Ayangpali by the womenfolk of the area.

They also marched a protest rally in the surrounding of the area to show solidarity to the government decision not to allow Muivah entering the state and decrying Muivah's move to disintegrate the unity of the state.

The United Committee Manipur also in a statement said that the protest against Muivah's visit in the state is continuing at various places of the state.

The UCM held a meeting of leaders of different communities today at Yaingangpokpi Bazar.

The meeting presided over by its president Yumnamcha Dilipkumar was attended by Bm Yaima Shah, L Thangsho Kom, chairman, Laikon village authority among others.

Meanwhile, many civil organisations continued to pour down protest with the Muivah's propose visit in the state.

MEELAL, Macha Leima, KSA, Union of Social Upliftment were among other condemning the visit of Muivah.
