Imphal, September 05: While expressing sympathy and discontentment over the exclusion of L Monika Devi from the Beijing squad, the Anal Lenruwl Tangpi (Anal Naga Students' Union) has nevertheless appealed to YAS Minister N Biren and the Coordinating Committee Against the Exclusion of L Monika from Beijing Olympic by the Government of India to allow the school students of Chandel to participate at the National level Subroto Mukherjee Football Tournament under 17 years to be held at New Delhi from September 10 .

In a statement, the student body said that this is the first time that school students from Chandel have qualified for a National championship and urged all concerned to allow them to participate at the said football tournament.

The student body added that the same injustice that was meted out to L Monika should not be given to the students of Chandel.

If the opportunity to participate at the National level is denied because of one individual, then the people of Chandel will feel betrayed.

The student body warned that in case their petition is not responded to positively, then they would be constrained to launch a series of agitation.
