Imphal, June 27: Expressing grave concern at prolong imposition of economic blockade along the National Highway No 39 Imphal-Moreh stretch the All Manipur Tammi-Chingmi Apunba Nupi Lup has asked the State Government to resolve the impasse before the matter blows out of hand and create enmity between various section of the society.

Referring to the agitation launched by the ADC Demand Committee in pursuit of demand for shifting the ADC office from Moreh to Tengnoupal the Lup expressed that State authorities need to intervene without further delay as cutting off supply route to the general public would not led to escalation of prices of essential commodities but cause serious breach of peace and heighten communal tension.

Contending that some armed persons posing as agitation supporters are harassing even sick persons travelling in private carriers and those heading for ceremonial purposes the women body also alleged of these armed miscreants embarking on a looting spree in full view of security personnel stationed at Tengnoupal area.

Urging the blockade sponsors to ensure unhindered movement of person/s requiring medical treatment and those connected with religious programme the Lup also demanded that State Govt inform security forces deployed at Tengnoupal area to contain activities of these unlawful elements.
