Senapati, July 07 (NNN): The agitating All Naga Students Association, Manipur (ANSAM) has today accused the Manipur Government for not showing seriousness in the talks with regard to the prevailing issue.

Informing this to Newmai News Network this evening, the Naga student leaders narrated that ANSAM being a responsible mass based organisation, had responded to the Manipur Governments invitation for talks at Senapati, keeping in mind the interest of the general public but the Government of Manipur had said a big NO to the idea of holding talk in the hill district.

The ANSAM leaders termed the move of the Manipur Government as very unfortunate.

This shows the complacency of the Manipur Government, reasoned the ANSAM leaders.

The Naga student leaders further said that the problem is with them (Manipur Government) and not with us (ANSAM).

We do not see any dialogue taking place at the moment, rued the ANSAM leaders.

The Naga students leaders while putting the blame on the State Govt for the present situation prevailing in the State, also accused the Ibobi led SPF Govt of trying to justify its move by using force.

Ibobi Singh in connivance with Union Home Minister Shivaraj Patil has reportedly arranged 500 troops of para-military forces to discourage the ongoing economic blockade on the two NHs, pointed out the striking student leaders and added, it is not a good sign to begin with.

While responding to the CMs reported remark that ANSAM members are also Manipuris, the ANSAM leaders clarified by saying, once and for all we (ANSAM members) are first Nagas and secondly too, we are Nagas and Nagas alone.

There is no question of Nagas becoming others.

All the tribal people in the present State of Manipur have their own distinct identities and the majority community should not try to assimilate them.

Therefore all the tribal people should resist the assimilation process. On the ongoing non-cooperation movement launched by the ANSAM against the State Govt, the Naga student leaders pledged to intensify the stir.

Any eventuality during this agitation shall be held responsible by the Manipur Govt.We also appeal all like minded social organisations and individuals to stand up with us in the quest for permanent peace and justice, urged the ANSAM leaders.
