Imphal, September 03: Information and Power Minister Gaikhangam has observed that now-a-days the concept and meaning of unity is being abused in Manipur with many groups of people interpreting it in their own ways.

In fact, one group of people should not hurt the sentiments of another group of people while trying to bring unity among themselves, the Minister said while addressing the 13th freshers� meet of Tribal Students� Union of DM College of Science as the chief guest today.

The freshers� meet programme was held under the motto of �Unity and education among tribals�.

The Minister also exhorted the students not to squander time and said that lost time could not be compensated at all.

Since youngsters of today are future pillars of the society, they should they utilise their time judiciously and gain as much knowledge as possible, the Minister said.

MLA Thangso Baite and principal of DM College of Science Ch Bedamani Devi graced the occasion as guest of honour and president respectively.
