Dimapur, July 23 (NNN): An emergency coordination meeting of the Naga Hoho, Naga Students' Federation (NSF), United Naga Council (UNC) and All Naga Students' Association, Manipur (ANSAM), held on July 22 at Zonal Council Hall, Kohima, reaffirmed the endorsement of the Naga Hoho to the NSF to spearhead the ongoing agitation in Nagaland.

A press release issued by Naga Hoho general secretary, Neingulo Krome, said a decision to this effect was taken earlier as a counter measure to the "arrogant attitude of the Government of Manipur, which has resorted to forcible violation of the peaceful economic blockade by lifting goods to Imphal Valley with security forces even resorting to firing at will, injuring innocent citizens and volunteers".

The release said the provocation to the peaceful agitation necessitated intensifying of protest and non-cooperation movement, which further led to 'loss of lives, homes and properties'.

In the light of the above, the co-ordination meeting urged all concerned Nagas and well-wishers to extend their support and co-operation to the NSF, which took up the task of safeguarding the interest of the Nagas.

The release said the Naga Hoho was deeply annoyed and offended with the 'insensitive statement' of the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee that "Nagas of Nagaland should not be dragged into the imbroglio".

The Hoho asked the NPCC if the Nagas of Nagaland, who have enjoyed every benefit of the political struggle, should continue to remain mute spectators when they fought all their lives with determination and desire to live together as one family, and when other people were subjecting fellow Nagas to all kinds of humiliation right under the very nose of the Nagas.

The Naga Hoho advised fellow Nagas to stop insulting their own "human intelligence" and refrain from alienating oneself from the common aspiration of the Nagas.

Further, it expressed deep concern over the plight of people living in Imphal valley arising put the blockade and the non-cooperation movement launched by the Nagas.
