Imphal, March 14: The Tamenglong District Youth Congress Committee (DYCC) has accused Chief Minister O Ibobi of insulting MPCC (I) president Gaikhangam.

A press release issued by the DYCC conveyed dissatisfaction over the Chief's Minister attitude and treatment meted out to the MPCC (I) president.

The Chief Minister is deliberately victimising Gaikhangam and it has nothing to do with the Governor.

The DYCC further alleged that the Chief Minister was intent upon ensuring Gaikhangam's defeat in the 9th Assembly elections.

While the MPCC (I) president was facing the wrath of UNC and threats from militants, the Chief Minister ignored the repeated requests for additional security forces and Gaikhangam was left on his own, it asserted.
