Imphal, October 08: MLA of Keishamthong Assembly Constituency L Ibomcha has demanded that all the Ministers of SPF Ministry should be prosecuted for their decision to let the captured NSCN (I-M) leaders free.

It is very unfortunate that Government did not even consult or ask the consensus of MLAs and other party leaders before taking the decision to set the NSCN (I-M) leaders free, Ibomcha said in a press release.

He contended that the 13 armed NSCN (I-M) leaders have entered into the territory of Manipur illegally and so as per the law of the land FIR should have been registered against them under Arms Act, Section 25, IPC, Section 120 (B) and 153 (A) and released them through Court.

SPF Government should make it public whether such procedure had been followed in releasing the NSCN (I-M) cadres and if no such thing had been done, other underground organizations would demand the same thing when their cadres are arrested in future, he observed.

While pointing out that law and order is a State subject and there is no need to inform the Centre when a person is arrested, Ibomcha asked whether the State Government informed the Centre when an underground cadre was arrested by the State police.

To enumerate his point, Ibomcha said that when Union Minister Kannappa was held under POTA, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalitha, far from consulting the Centre did not even entertained telephone call from Prime Minister, who demanded the release of Kannappa and Government of India could do nothing in this regard.

The decision of the State Cabinet to release all the 13 NSCN (I-M) leaders was illegal and there is no reason why all the Ministers, including the Chief Minister and State officials involved in the decision making as well as Union Home Minister and Sonia Gandhi who have given pressure for their release should not be persecuted, Ibomcha said, asserting that the people of the State would be fully convinced on when such a case has been taken up against all these persons under IPC Section 109,219,221,225 and 225 (B).
