Imphal, April 01: Against the brutal murder of Hrinii Hubert and Muheni Martin after they were kidnapped for ransom, a sit-in-protest was staged today at Khurai Sajor Leikai under the aegis of All Manipur Nupi Marup, Khurai area.

The protest sitting was participated by a large number of women.

The protesters also held placards which read as "Don't kidnap children for ransom", "Punish the murderers", "NSCN (IM) should not shield the murderers", "Let children play freely", "Let's save the future pillars of the society" etc.

Taking strong exception to the gruesome murder of the two innocent kids, the Kanglei Apunba Ima Yaipha Lup condemned the utter incompetency of the State Government to bring justice in the shocking murder case.

While castigating NSCN (IM) for its conspicuous silence even after the outfit has admitted some suspects in its custody, the Lup also conveyed pity over the alleged inability of the State police to discharge its duty in the hills districts.

Joining the outcry against the gruesome murder of Hrinii Hubert and Muheni Martin, the Committee on People's Integrity slammed the State Government for its failure to pay due attention to the issue before it was too late.

Observing that the murder of the two innocent kids is a threat to the entire human civilization, the Tarahei Muslim Women Welfare Association questioned the purpose of the State intelligence wing.

Reminding that this is not the first case of killing innocent children, it warned the State Government to deliver justice this time at the earliest in accordance to the sentiment of the people.
