Five more children go missing

Imphal, July 25: Inspite of stringent security measures through setting up of Police Task Force in the four valley districts to prevent kidnapping of young children for recruitment as child soldier by militants and unabated public protest against such activities, in all five children, two from Thangmeiband and three from Moidangpok Mayai are missing kidnapped in the last three days even as a young boy from Lilong, who managed to escape from the clutches of his armed abductors recounted his ordeal to mediapersons today.

The two missing kids from Thangmeiband have been identified as Yumnam Super alias Naocha (16) son of Brajamani of THangmeiband Sinam leikai and KOnsam Sachin alias pandum (16) son of late Merajao of Thangmeiband Yumnam Leikai.

According to family members, missing of super was known at around 9:00 am yesterday when he didnt return to have his morning meal.

He is a student of class IX studying in St Savio School.

The school authority however said that Super dropped out from school around five years back.

On the other hand Sachin, a student of little Master Higher Secondary school studying in class VIII has reportedly gone missing after going out from home.

According to information received by the press, the two kids have last seen going along with one Irom London (26) s/o Samu of Thangmeiband Sinam Leikai.

The family members of the two kids have lodged separate missing reports with the Imphal Police Station.

The head of the Task Force (Imphal West) SDPO Lamphel N Herojit said the police have started searching for the two missing kids.

Three more children have also been reportedly from Moidangpok Mayai Leikai since July 23 .

According to a joint reeport lodged to the Officer-in-Charge of Patoi Police Station by Naorem Modhu Singh, Naorem Joychandra Singh and Aribam Robin Sharma, all residents of Moidangpok Mayai Leikai, three children sons have been missing since July 23 .

The three missing children have been identified as Naorem Robin (13) s/o Naorem Modhu Singh, Naorem Bison Singh (12) s/ o Naorem Joychandra Singh and Laishram Ango Singh (13) s/o Laishram Jiban.

Rabi and Ango are reportedly studying in class VI while Bison in class VII .
