Imphal, July 19: THE JOINT Action Committee Against shifting of SSB/VVF from Manipur has called 18 hour Manipur bandh from midnight of July 21 next to 6.00 pm of July 22.The Chief Minister, Okram Ibobi assured the JAC that the govt of Manipur will pressurize the Union government not to shift SSB/VVF from Manipur when the JAC met CM on May 3 last.

The CM further said a cabinet meeting will be held within seven days however the CM did not give any comment to JAC.

The state Governments of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh pressurized the Union Govt against shifting of the SSB/VVF from their respective states.

In connection with the proposed 18-hour bandh volunteers numbering about 1000 of JAC will be provide strict vigil to ensure success of the bandh.

Meanwhile various organizations have given in written to support the bandh being called.
