Family appeals to kidnappers

Imphal, November 11: Family members of Lungnila Elizabeth have made a fervent appeal to the kidnappers to release her safe and sound immediately.

In a statement, the family members expressed grief that all of them have been spending sleepless nights, unimaginable mental torture and nightmares due to her sudden disappearance, who they pleaded is harmless and innocent.

Even though young Lungnila was kidnapped more than a week ago, the condition and whereabouts of the young girl is still a mystery, added the statement.

Meanwhile, the statement has also expressed its heartfelt gratitude to all individuals, student organizations, Meira Paibis, voluntary organizations, NGOs and Churches who have stood for the family physically, morally and in prayers during these hours of pain and sorrow.

It also appealed to the public to extend their cooperation and support till young Lungnila reaches home safely.

The Chingmeirong Rongmei Youth Club Imphal has also appealed to the kidnappers to release the young girl in the name of God as no amount of money can buy the life of a child.

In a statement, Chingmeirong Rongmei Youth Club asserted that if this evil trend becomes a tradition there is possibility of the kidnappers' own families finding themselves in the same situation.

The statement also asked the kidnappers to visualize their own children in this suffocating dilemma and release the young helpless child.

While strongly condemning the kidnapping Dist strongly condemned the cowardly act of kidnapping the young girl and appeals to the captors to release her on humanitarian ground.

In a statement it stated that the student body had enquired with the village chiefs and leaders under its jurisdiction and found nothing in connection with the kidnapping of the child of Lungnila, the Young Maram Association and the Senapati Dist Catholic Union have appealed to the kidnappers to release the young girl immediately.
