Imphal, April 03: Finally Senapati is ready for the the funeral service of the two murdered kids but the Rest In Peace (RIP) sign is yet to be in sight.

It has been decided that the funeral ceremony of late Muheni Martin and Hriini Hubert will be held tomorrow at Senapati district headquarters.

Core Committee Chairman Solomon Veino informed NNN that the civil societies have decided to carry out the funeral service following the assurance from the State Government and the NSCN-IM that the matter will be solved as soon as possible.

The NSCN-IM, in whose custody the three suspects who masterminded the kidnapping and the subsequent murder of the two kids have been kept, had assured the Core Committee that within seven days time the investigation process will be over and the findings will be made public.

At 9 am tomorrow the general public and well wishers of Martin and Hubert will gather at Mini Stadium and at 10 am the coffins of the two murdered kids will arrive at the stadium from where the public will proceed to the residences of both the slain kids and then return to the Senapati Mini Statdium after which the formal funeral service will be held at 2 clock in the afternoon.

A large number of people drawn from all walks of life and other parts of the State are expected to pay their last respect to the departed souls of the two kids.

People from Nagaland are expected also to join the funeral service.

Meanwhile the All Manipur Christian Organisation (AMCO) has strongly condemned the killing of the two children.

Such heinous crimes should not be allowed to be committed again, president of the organisation Rev S Prim Vaiphei and its general secretary Aram Pamei said in a joint statement while calling for vigilance on the part of the public.

Expressing serious concern over the rise in crime against children in Manipur, the joint statement said innocent people can no longer live in peace in Manipur these days.

Therefore it is imperative that all concerned must introspect to go to the root cause of the issue.

The culprits should be hunted down and awarded befitting punishments as an exemplary action so that such heinous crimes against children in particular and the innocent public in general do not recur, the joint statement said, adding that as AMCO stands for truth and justice, it would like the truth to be revealed at the earliest by bringing the culprits to book and justice given to the bereaved families and the public.

Pledging support to the agitation being spearheaded by the Core Committee in this connection, the joint statement said AMCO also supports the demand for digging out the truth/fact.

AMCO, therefore, urged for effective action from the Government's side to prevent such crimes against children in future, the statement added.

All Manipur Muslims (Meitei Pangal) Welfare Association (AMPWA) and All Manipur Tammi-Chingmi Apunba Nupi Lup have also condemned the killing of two innocent children by their kidnappers as an inhumane act that has shaken the conscious of the people of Manipur.

The two kids went missing after having kidnapped on December 14 last year and their skeleton remains were recovered on March 27 this year after a gap of 104 days.
