Chagah Festival - annual festival of Liangmai community celebrated at Taphou Liangmai village in Senapati district headquarters on October 30, 2012.
Main highlights of the festival are lighting the sacred fire, showcasing traditional dances, presentation of songs and traditional games.
The festival marks the coming of joyful days with good fortune winning over the evil and the festival is celebrated by their ancestor to triumph for winning the war against adversary and sanctification for a prosperous life. It is celebrated in the month of Chagah Hiu (October) every year.
The celebration programme was graced by Mao A/C MLA L Dikho; Joint Director of TRI, Z Solomon and Director of Art and Culture, Dr K Sobita as the chief guest, guest of honour and president respectively while Secretary of Manipur State Kala Akademi, S Vedeshwar was the special guest.
