The Zeilad Lake is one out of many other famous lakes in Tamenglong which is a must visit tourist attraction. Zeilad Lake is situated near the Zeliadjung (Atenba) village on a high platform up on the hill, Visiting the lake, tourists can see the picturesque beauty of the place where they can sit and relax amid the peaceful atmosphere.
Also, the Zeilad Lake offers abundant scope for to the adventure enthusiasts. Other than this, the Zeilad Lake is a home to the pythons, fish, tortoises and water and migratory birds that tourists can easily spot and also this is one of the reasons why tourists love visiting the lake.
The Naga tales reveal that the Zeilad Lake is a place where paddy was originated. In addition to this, Zeilad Lake has recently been declared as one of the four wildlife sanctuaries of Manipur and is also known as the Zeilad Wildlife Sanctuary.
