'The Regalia' - A Grand Tour Of Fashion Royale by Aruna Academy of Creative Arts :: 16 June 2013

First round: PARADISE REGAINED : The first sequence, Paradise Regained, is a depiction of the communal peace & harmony and brotherhood of many communities living together in Manipur. It also showcases the artistic creativity of the Meiteis, Tribes and Muslim tribes, which is represented by the fine and intricate patterns of the apparel, the exquisite artistry of the weaving patterns etc.

Presented by Aruna Academy of Creative Arts & Shyamasundari Memorial Foundation Held on Sunday, 16th June, 2013 ; Venue: MFDC Convention Hall, Imphal Manipur

The Regalia, is organized by Aruna Academy of Creative Arts, Imphal, to showcase a collection of 150 apparels and an array of exclusive jewelry and props. The objective of the grand fashion event is to promote the beautiful hand crafted apparels for Domestic & Export Marketing, in order to fulfill the two-pronged needs of preservation & promotion of the existing indigenous traditional attires, trendy and modern collection for supply to domestic and foreign buyers in order to improvise and enhance the lives of daily wage workers and artisans and also to help maintain communal peace and harmony of Manipur.

The dresses include ethnic and indigenous communities, Kabui, Tangkhul, Mizo tribes and Meitei Pangals (Manipuri Muslims), hand painted and block printed silk Dhotis with graceful and elegant Meitei motifs, Innaphees, Stoles, Sarees, Dupattas, grand Lehenga & Shararas and Sherwani suits embossed with gold prints, embroidered Kurta Pyjamas, Dresses and tops in Silk n brocade materials, Sarees with printed metallic spangled temple designs, dresses with sequin works, jodhpuri pants, stretchable pencil trousers, silk shirts and kurtas etc.
