Ukhongsang village under Heirok Assembly in  Thoubal District ::  13th June 2017

Ukhongsang is a village inhabited by about 5000 people. the village is situated in thoubal district under heirok assembly COnstituency. The village is covered under Shikhong Sekmai Municipal Council.

It is divided into Mamang, Mayai and Maning Leikai. About 60% of the total household of 700 houses believe in Sanamahi Religion.

To the north in Nongpok Sekmai and Shikhong to the meet is Lourembam to the south is Salungpham and to the east is hill area of Tengnoupal and Kangpokpi district.

Ukhongsang is about 36 kilometre from Imphal via Thoubal, Yairipok. The distance between Thoubal (via charangpat) and Ukhongsang is about 8 kilometre.

Main market for the people of Ukhongsang is @ Thoubal and Yairipok.

The main occupation of the people of Ukhongsang is Cultivator/Farmer. The village also produced our traditional salt in the earlier period.
