Mera Chaoren Houba - Age old traditional and religous function at Kangla and at Haying Khongban :: October 05 2013

"Mera Chaoren Houba" - Age old traditional and religous function - was observed mass procession attended by people belonging to different communities in their traditional attires was taken out from the complex of Lainingthou Sanamahi Temple to Kangla, from where the sacred water was collected from Nungjreng Pukhri on October 05 2013. Later , Mera Chaoren Houba festival was celebrated with great religious fervour at the holy Haying Khongban in 1st Manipur Rifles complex.

"Mera Chaorel Houba Numit" - meaning the first day of Mera - A month in Manipuri Calendar , an auspicious day observed by various Maibas and Maibis and common people offering foods to the God at Kangla.
