Tension ran high between Assam Rifles and NSCN(IM) from Jan 19th 2009 at Siroy Village under Ukhrul district, Manipur. Assam Rifles cordoned the NSCN(IM) camp from Jan 19th midnight, cut off light, water and supply ration. No one are allowed in or out of the NSCN (IM) camp for the past 12 days. The Siory villagers (around 1000) cannot work in the hills and fields due to present situation between AR and NSCN(IM). Read timeline on this stand-off here.
