To start off the celebration, the chief guest of the function Tourism Minister Govindas Konthoujam released a gas balloon with the banner Kut, 2005 attached to it followed by sounding of Kut trumpet in unison by the people.
The biggest post-harvest festival of Kuki-Chin-Mizo group of people, Kut was celebrated on 1st November, 2005 at the Ist Manipur Rifles Parade group with traditional fervour and gaiety.
