Manipur Students Association Kolkata organised the Thabal Chongba on the day of Sajibu Cheiraoba on 14th April 2013 at the premises of Manipur Bhawan Kolkata.
There was a long gap of about 12 years since the last Thabal Chongba Festival was held.
"It was a grand success especially for the convenor of the thabal chongba. It was not only the thabal chongba but also a candle lightening ceremony was also held on the day in the hope that we the students and all the people of manipur should live in peace and there should not be no communal riots in the state. At the last moment during the candle lightening ceremony we also pray to god for the only lady that has been fasting for the last 12 years to remove the ''AFSPA 1958'' from Manipur.
