Robert Naorem strikes back with Kanglei Fashion Extravaganza with a mission  :: 20th September 2015

Renowned Manipuri designer Robert Naorem successfully organized Kanglei Fashion Extravaganza on September 20 2015 at Indiranagar Hall, Bangalore to help the flood victims in northeast and as a tribute to the region. The main idea behind conceptualising the event was to promote the culture and build a platform to showcase the talents of the northeast.

Robert has been enthusiastically working towards bringing Manipur to the world map of fashion and sticking to his roots of origin. The designs presented during the fashion show were weaved by Manipuri women weavers and he plays a great role motivating them. The initiative taken up by him also encourages new emerging designers to make a mark in the fashion world.

The fashion show also presented the designs of Mantri Meitei, Ranjeeta Nongthombam and few other designers. Manipuri model Stibo Yendrembam walked the ramp along with 5 top rated supermodels of India - Carol Gracias, Candice Ointo, Noyonika, Archana Akhil Kumar and Pallavi. A host of other well known models also took part in the fashion show. Choreography of the show was done by a very popular choreographer Sheetal Sharma from Mumbai. The show was also supported by BNS Reddy, DGP of Karnataka Police.

Moving forward, Robert is planning to organize the show in other metro cities including Mumbai and Delhi. With a mission to support his place of birth as much as he can, Robert has a vision to conquer the fashion world by sticking to his roots.
