Angela Sofia Sterzer, also known as Anjela, is French Classical Manipuri dancer based in Paris. She is also a contemporary dancer, choreographer and singer. She studied classical dance and contemporary dance in Munich and Paris and later became a member of 'Martin Padron Danse Theatre'. In 1996, she founded a dance company called 'La Dance qui Chante' in Paris. In 2000, she 'discovered' Classical Manipuri Dance. Enchanted by its beauty, she began to study and learn this dance form from noted Manipuri Dance exponents including Jatindra Singh, Ibemubi Devi and Sunita Devi. Since then, she has choreographed and performed Classical Manipuri Dance on several occasions in India and in Europe giving special attention on choreographies where Manipuri Dance and contemporary dance can meet seamlessly. She also teaches Manipuri Dance at Town Hall of Paris.
