National Level Gourao Puraskar Sohala Awards was held at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Auditorium, Pune on 24th May 2009. Eight people from Manipur are amongst the National Awardees in their distinguish fields.
They are 1. Langpoklakpam Geeta, Keishampat keisham Leikai; 2. Mathurabasimayum Nandakishwor Sharma, Yairipok Vishnunaha; 3. Leihaorungbam Bidur Singh, Khurai Lamlong; 4. Leihaorungbam Amuyaima Singh, Kongpal Chingangbam Leikai; 5. Ningthoujam Irabot Singh, Chingmeirong; 6. Chingangbam Sanjoy Singh, Awang Potsangbam; 7. Langpoklakpam Somendro Mangang, Keishampat Keisham Leikai; 8. Yumnam Mahendra Kumar Singh, Wangjing.
There are total one hundred (100) awards in the various fields of writers, editors, artists, social workers, art and culture from different states of the country.
