Imphal, March 21 2010:
Manipur clinched both the men's and women's title of the 14th East Zone Handball Championship which concluded at Chaoyaima Higher Secondary School ground, Thoubal today.
The women's team defeated Assam 21-3 and Nagaland 17-5 to wrest the top honour while their ale counterparts cruised past Bihar (37-16), Tripura (30-18), Nagaland 19-6 and Assam (29-17) enroute to the championship crown.
Nagaland and Bihar secured runners-up position in the women's and men's competition respectively.
