Imphal, March 17 2010: Unidentified miscreants lobbed a hand grenade at the residence of Imphal West Up-Adhyaksha Chanam Ongbi Bijenti at Ngairangbam Makha Leikai last night at around 8:20.Police have retrieved the unexploded bomb which landed at the courtyard of Up-Adhyaksha.

Meanwhile, womenfolk of the locality staged a sit-in-protest in denunciation of the incident today.

Placards that read as, 'bombs are not toys', 'we condemn lobbing of bomb and firing at residential areas', 'we want peace', were put up during the agitation staged under the banner of Ngairangbam Apunba Meira Paibee Lup.
