Imphal, November 03 2009: District level Kut festival was organised by Kuki Inpi Jiri-Tamenglong zone at Longpi village, Tamenglong reports our correspondent.

MPCC president Gaikhangam graced the occasion as chief guest.

Colourful presentation of cultural programmes accompanied by a beauty pageant marked the festival.

Aiboi Gangte of Longpi village was crowned Miss Kut of the district.

Songkap Area Development Committee and PADC Churachandpur also jointly organised Kut festival at Saheiphai village.

Exchange of gifts by Kuki-Chin-Mizo people of the surrounding villages marked the celebration.

Miss Kut: Staff and students of K Orphanage UJB School and villagers area thanked Miss Kut 2009 Nickey Chongneithem for donating Rs 5000 to the school.
