Imphal, November 07 2009: Thangkhosei Haokip, former general secretary of Kuki Inpi Manipur, has been elected as the President of Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM), an apex body of the Kukis, for the term 2009-12, at an election held today at the Conference Hall of Hotel Imphal, according to a statement issued by the election secretary, Richard Nohkhomang Haokip.

As per the tradition of the KIM election, the President shall expand and constitute the KIM cabinet in consultation with senior advisors and leaders of different Kuki tribes within 30 days, as a normal practice, it added.
