Imphal, November 16: All Manipur Barbers’ Association has asserted that the present rate of charging Rs 10 for cutting hair and Rs 6 for shaving has been finalised not against the interest of the people nor any organisation.

It was necessary in view of the escalating prices of essential commodities including equipments needed.

On top of that the barbers have to pay the rent for the houses where they live and the shops from where they are running the business, Assn president and MLA Vivek Raj Wangkem said in a statement.

If any person feels that the rate being charged by the barbers are exorbitant, it may be better for them to stop visiting the salons, the statement added.

Gratitude: The 1999 Hindi Graduate Teachers' DPC Successful Candidates Association has expressed sincere gratitude to AMSU and MSF for their help in enabling the Association to get offer forms, informed a press release issued by the Association.

It mentioned that 146 DPC successful candidates had been denied offer forms since 1999 while appealing further to the student bodies not to restrict/ban learning and teaching of Hindi in future.
