With a view to pursue social justice, equality, transparency and to maintain quality works among others using Right to Information Act (RTI), 2005 and to get legitimate benefits, a new union has been floated in the state christened as Union for Transparency and RTI (UTRTI), Manipur.
Disclosing this through a communiqu�, the UTRTI said that the body was born following the meeting of RTI tribal activists hailing from various tribal communities which was held at MBC Hotel in Imphal on July 15 last where the tribal representatives unanimously decided to form an RTI based organization known as UTRTI.
It stated that the jurisdiction of the union will cover the entire state of Manipur with TK.
Haokip as president, Khawangshing as vice president, P.D Pou as general secretary, David Kamei as joint secretary, R.Peter as information and publicity secretary, Ignetius Rosalina as treasurer besides S.Ramhaoleng and Titus Kamei as working co-ordinators.
It also cited that the union was formed to give awareness to the backward tribal people in particular and others in general regarding their legitimate rights for development, their role in the process of governance, their contribution and initiatives towards development apart from how to be benefited out of the developmental works.
