A library cum study centre constructed by the 140 battalion Border Security Force (BSF) at Heirok Higher Secondary School was inaugurated today.
Inspector General, PJ Sebastian graced the inaugural function as chief guest which was presided over by the principal of the school Moirangthem Rajmohan.
DIG (CI ops) AK Sharma of SHQ of BSF and commandant of the 140 bn TPS Shidhu and up-pradhan T Ranjana attended as guests of honour of the function.
Speaking on the occasion, Inspector General, PJ Sebastian said the library cum study centre was constructed under civic action programme of the security establishment aiming at bringing closure tight with the general populace.
Human resource is one of the main resources of the country.
In the effort to utilize fully the human resources of the country, he stressed the need for opening computer and study centres at villages and gives them the opportunity of accessing internal.
It is also a must to take help of the technical education for the village students to able to compete in the all India level competitive exams.
Keeping in mind this, BSF is opening the library and study centre at Heirok school, Sebastian said assuring future helps to the school.
In the centre opened today a computer set and other infrastructures of worth around Rs 2.5 lakhs were also donated.
Cultural shows of the children of the school marked the occasion.
