Tamenglong, September 18, 2010:
The 11th Battalion Assam Rifles under 59 Mountain Brigade and District Health Mission Tamenglong had jointly organised a three month and ten day nurse training to Village Health Workers with the aim to make available health facilities to remote villages in Tamenglong district.
The felicitation to the eleven who successfully passed out the training was held on Saturday in the presence of Brigadier Anil Chauhan, Commander of 59 Mountain Brigade, Col PS Chhonkar, Commandant of 11 AR, Dr Chambo Gonmei, CMO ic, and DR Z.Kamei MO District Hospital among others at 11 AR camp, Tamenglong District HQs.
Medical equipment like BP instruments, stethoscopes, thermometers, needle holding forceps, toothed forceps, straight scissors, suture needle packages, brided silk reel, hand gloves, cotton rolls, bandage rolls etc were given to successful trainees through Brigadier Anil Chauhan, Commander, 59 Mountain Brigade.
The full package was worth Rs 1.35 lakhs.
Certificates too were distributed.
Dr Chambo Gonmei, CMO ic Tamenglong urged the successful trainees to utilize the kits and medicines properly consulting doctors and nurses from the nearest health centre.
He in the context of Tamenglong being the most backward district in India this training to village health workers should enable people in remote villages to avail health facilities at their localities.
He also mentioned the good servicesof 11 AR in the district.
The 11 successful trainees were Adima Kamei, Majaguangliu, BL Chunthanlliu, Riangkhamliu Gracy, Idouliu Riamei, Gaithuiliu Panmei, Gainailiu Panmei, Dinjiliu, Mercy Riamei, Rosy Gonmei, and Lugailiu.
